The Jason Russell House was the site of the bloodiest fighting during the first day of the Revolutionary War, April 19, 1775. Today it and the adjoining Smith Museum hold collections of the Arlington Historical Society.

Volunteers, Donations

We need donations of articles to sell and volunteers to help before, during and after the sale.

Examples of items needed:

Decorative home accessories
Bric-a-brac
Pictures & picture frames
Collectibles
Fabrics such as wall hangings
Quilts
Costume jewelry
Toys
Nice dishes, cups, glasses, etc.
Books
Clocks
Lamps
Vases
Rugs
Fashion accessories

Items should be dropped off in boxes or other containers at the Jason Russell House.

Drop off-dates and times:

August 26 and 27, 1-4 pm
August 29, 9:30 am - 2:30pm
September 2 and 3, 1-4 pm
September 5, 9:30 am – 2:30 pm

Volunteers needed:

To be at the JRH to accept items on the dates given above
Post Flyers
Price items prior to June 11
Pickup tables
Setup everything on June 11
Run the tables at the sale
Cleanup after sale
Take items not sold to Good Will
Return tables

All items should be in good, salable condition.

If a rare or valuable item is donated for the sale, please include any notes or descriptions, including suggested value.

Examples of items not wanted: Large appliances; Large furniture such as overstuffed chairs, sofas, large tables; Lawn equipment; Bicycles; TVs; Computers; Electronics; Clothing
